I am writing this on the 27th so won’t be able to remember everything!

We did quite a lot of planning for the day for Toby, explaining who would be there, what Toby could talk to each person about (with examples sentences) and wrote down actions Toby could take and how many minutes that would get on the iPad. We went over this multiple times.

Toby woke up a little after Eve and she was already opening stocking presents. We just said hello and let Toby choose whether to look in his bag of unwrapped presents. He started to and found the Illusions book I had bought, he spent a long time reading the book and trying out the puzzle at the end.

When we went downstairs to open presents, Toby just started reading a book (Most Epic Book of Maths, I think) and didn’t get involved which is fine!

He picked up the Maths Quest books we had bought him and started reading that while we were having breakfast.

He read a book about storms and weather in the car on the way there and we went through the planning that we’d done in the car with Toby again.

The day went really well – Toby spent most of the time in the study but did come out to say hello properly, talk to a few people and did spend time up the table eating lunch. He even looked at his presents and said a great thank you to each person who’d got him one.

He showed Lee and Luke Geometry Dash and did good explanations.

Toby read books, made a heart shape with Hama beads for Eve, played with the balls on the pool table.

Overall it was a brilliant day and much better than we had anticipated!
