Math Factor – dividing large numbers by 10s, 100s and 1000s
Math factor – rounding decimals and large numbers. Watched the video and although Toby got frustrated because he didn’t like how rounding works, he accepted it and got full marks in the practice.
Ed Place – difficult word questions involving multiple additions and subtractions – we didn’t realise it was year 5 work. This took us a long time and Toby did very well sticking with it and getting 100%
Meet Science 3 – Forces
Ed place – magnetic and non-magnetic materials – Toby knows these better than I do!
Ed place – magnets 2 worksheet. Really interesting that Toby started to show me how the marbles in between the Geomag affect attraction and repelling – 1 marble between 2 rods results in attraction regardless of magnetic poles of the rods but 2 marbles will attract or repel depending on the poles of the rods. Toby showed me that you can put many marbles between 2 rods that have opposite poles but you cannot between similar poles

Walking to collect Eve from preschool. We went to the skatepark and then got to the playground and it starting pouring with rain. We had to shelter for about 10mins before venturing out – both Toby and Eve were very brave with lots of thunder and lightning!
We walked home through the woods as the next bus was ages away. We then arrived home just in time to avoid another downpour!
Once at home Toby and Eve did cutting paper – Toby made paper rings and Möbius strips using Velcro to secure them.
After dinner Toby played Battleships with Chris.
