Maths and Science day!

  • Made up a points system using huge numbers – we printed off the names of numbers with lots of zeros
  • Beaker app and did a scientific method write up
  • Word square game where you have muddled up letters and have to rearrange them so all rows and columns are words
  • Ted ed videos – why are there so many varieties of apples, what would happen if everyone was vegetarian, why do we get cavities. 
  • Ted ed periodic table videos for Lithium, beryllium and ununoctium
  • Ate jacket potato, cheese and beans for lunch. Here’s Eve loving hers!
  • Magic school bus – ocean food chains
  • Piano
  • Set game 
  • Exercise in Toby’s room
  • Extremely large numbers – up arrows – watched video and tried it out on whiteboard. Eve did excellent writing numbers
  • Fast multiplication of large numbers – wanted to try it out by multiplying two 20 digit numbers – a bit ambitious!
  • Transport tycoon
  • Codebreakers – lots of maths!
  • Beaker app again and discussed reactions and predictions 
  • Expanded the game we are playing at bedtimes – added numbers 21-40 and played again
