Geometry

We started today with lots of Ted Eds about illnesses and disorders like heart attacks, heat stroke and HIV.

Toby played chess on the iPad. He found losing to the computer difficult to handle but wasn’t aggressive.

We then played words games with the Nab It tiles.

We then did Tantrix puzzles. We started looking at the colour, curve and pattern properties of the Tantrix pieces and entered them into spreadsheets.

Toby then folded up a piece of paper and wondered about the angles at the fold. We used lots of geometrical rules to find all the angles. We used the Calculator + app to help us and even touched on trigonometry to find out angles. We covered interior, exterior, complementary and supplementary angles. Absolutely fantastic!

I then gave Toby a new puzzle cube to play with.

Toby played lots more chess on the iPad!
