So I didn’t make notes today but it was such a good day! Last year Toby did not have fun at his birthday party – he didn’t enjoy opening unknown presents, didn’t like the food or party games 🙁

This year we did it differently, we invited family for the afternoon so there was no eating involved. Nobody wrapped up presents and Toby had chosen (almost) all of the presents so there were no surprises. We had planned the party games together and Toby had control over them. We explained who was coming, gave him a list of presents he would be receiving, how much iPad he could earn for different actions and a numbered list showing what order things would happen. This seems like it worked really well and we had a fantastic afternoon where Toby was super involved and played lots with his cousins 🙂

This morning we finished making the spinners with lots of sums at different ability levels for each of his cousins. Toby had written the rules yesterday and it all worked out well. All the children enjoyed the game and getting prizes!

Toby played upstairs with his cousins and Eve with no problems at all! He enjoyed doing the pass the parcel, looking at his presents and cards and said thank you to everyone properly. He blew out his candles and enjoyed looking at the treasure map on his amazing cake that Nannie made.

This evening he watched maths and science videos with Chris on YouTube.

Wedgits on wheels for quiet game at bedtime 🙂

Brilliant day!
