Today we went to Uncle Stephen’s house in Loughton. He is looking after his Grandchildren for the half term holidays. William is 9 and Maya is almost 4. We all played in the garden for a while then went for a long walk in the forest – balancing on logs and climbing. Toby and William were together and Eve and Maya – v sweet 🙂 Once back we did more playing in the garden on the swings, hide and seek and hide the ping pong ball game.

The pool heating had broken and so the pool was pretty chilly. Toby was brave and went in with William and Maya but he kept going too deep without floats and wasn’t listening. He got upset when we made him get out because the incident that we took him out for was a bit of him and a bit of William getting him too deep but it was just too dangerous without him listening 🙁 We need to get him swimming properly because then we won’t get these problems!

Stephen did a BBQ for us all (yum!) and amazingly Toby ate it outside without any complaints while reading the Alien Stink book. Fantastic!

Later Toby played Mastermind with William – he did find it difficult to deal with when William didn’t understand the rules to start with – we tried to explain that he hadn’t played it before and it was important to be understanding. He was much better after that.

On the way home Toby read the Steve Cole book.

After dinner we did Math Factor – division by 3, grand genius division test and order of operations algebra.

We had one game of mastermind before bed.
