Toby decided this morning that he would go the entire day without the video camera which is a huge step. He did it to get VIP on Jurassic World as a reward and he managed it – he said a few times that he was getting the missing feeling and we mustn’t give in to it because it could turn into the loss feeling.
This morning we were more relaxed as Eve has preschool in the afternoon on Wednesdays. They both went out and did the bouncy castle – it was pretty chilly though.
Toby watched some VSauce videos.
On the walk to take Eve to preschool it started raining and then hailing – Toby was completely fine about it! He wasn’t keen on going to the shops afterwards in case the weather got worse but going on Eve’s scooter cheered him up and we went to co-op. In there we were discussing sugar content and he was looking at the labels of the foods and drinks to compare – he had heard that Coke had lots and was a bit concerned that I used to drink it.
The weather did get worse so we got the bus home. At home Toby was asking to do the ipad and said he would do maths workbooks for rewards – he chose the age 10-11 book and completed a page about the relationship between multiplication and division. There were lots of questions but by the end of it he had remembered lots of the times tables so was enjoying answering quickly! Toby often finds completing tasks difficult so I was impressed that he persevered.
After this we did a Sudoku together – well Toby did it and I sat there and gave him reassurance that he was doing it correctly.
We then did Wordsearches together but Toby added some competitiveness – we had different colour pens and tried to find the most words. Again he did very well and had good concentration.
We went to collect Eve from preschool and once home Toby watched some more VSauce until iPad time.
At bedtime we did more wordsearches and played Uno. Toby then read a bit of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
